The headline savings on a dental tourism quote often don't include flights, accommodation, extra visits, or what happens if the case changes. A breakdown of the costs that tend to get left off the estimate.

The number that draws patients to dental tourism in the first place — the headline price for implants or a full-arch restoration — is rarely the full cost of the trip. That's not necessarily dishonest; it's often just incomplete, and the gap tends to show up in categories patients don't think to ask about upfront.

• Travel & stay

  Flights, lodging for however many visits the treatment requires, and meals during each stay.

• A second trip

  Complex cases — full-arch implants especially — typically require at least two trips separated by a healing period of months.

• Case changes

  If a scan on arrival reveals a need for additional bone grafting or more extensive work, that changes the price — a trustworthy quote explains this contingency in writing beforehand.

• Translation

  Interpretation costs, if the clinic doesn't have staff who speak your language directly for clinical conversations.

None of this means dental tourism isn't cost-effective — for many patients, even with the full picture included, it still represents meaningful savings. It means the real comparison has to include the full picture, not just the headline number.
